Osun Government to Resume Work on Abandoned Osun House Project in Abuja

The Government of Osun State has announced plans to resume construction work next month on the Osun House project located in the Central Business District of Abuja.

The project, which has been stalled for over a decade, is set to recommence following the termination of a 13-year-old contract.

The announcement was contained in an official statement signed by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the Governor of Osun State.

According to the statement, the project was conceived as a strategic investment to enhance the state’s administrative and commercial presence in the Federal Capital Territory, and its completion is expected to deliver significant economic and institutional value.

Governor Ademola Adeleke disclosed the development after a recent inspection of the site, stating that all legal and contractual issues that had previously impeded progress have now been fully resolved.

He directed the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to mobilize to the site and commence work without further delay.

“In line with the policy of our administration to complete all inherited projects, we have resolved all bottlenecks, and the Ministry of Works is to commence completion work without further delay,” Governor Adeleke stated.

He noted that the project, initially initiated during the administration of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, had remained abandoned for 12 years by the time the current administration assumed office in 2022.

He emphasized the importance of fast-tracking its completion and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development.

“From 2023 to date, we have successfully navigated the contractual issues. I can assure Osun people that the coast is clear now, and Osun will soon be reaping the fruits of her investment in the project,” the governor added.
