In a significant move to deepen international cooperation and expand economic frontiers, the delegation of His Imperial Majesty, Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has concluded a series of high-level engagements in Monrovia, aimed at securing investments and strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Liberia.
The delegation, led by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, held strategic meetings with key government and security officials, focusing on investment security, economic collaboration, and cultural diplomacy.
The development was contained in a statement signed by Sodiq Lawal, Media Assistant, Ooni’s Palace.
At the forefront of the engagements was a high-level meeting with the Inspector General of Police of the Liberia National Police, Gregory O. W. Coleman. Discussions centered on ensuring a secure environment for the Ooni’s proposed investments in Liberia.
Speaking during the meeting, Otunba Olafare conveyed the goodwill message of the Ooni, emphasizing the monarch’s strong interest in investing in Liberia. He stressed that security remains a critical pillar for sustainable investment, noting the importance of close collaboration with the Liberia National Police to guarantee the success of the initiatives.
In response, IGP Coleman expressed appreciation for the Ooni’s interest in Liberia and assured the delegation of maximum security for all investment-related activities. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Liberian government to safeguarding investors and maintaining a stable climate for economic growth, while highlighting ongoing improvements in the country’s security architecture.
Further advancing diplomatic and economic dialogue, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Minerals Exploration & Energy, Oliver S. Gbegbe. The meeting explored opportunities within Liberia’s natural resources sector and underscored the Ooni’s interest in fostering developmental partnerships that will benefit both nations.
In another key engagement, Otunba Olafare met with Liberia’s Presidential Special Envoy on Investment, Ambassador Mohammed M. Bah. The discussions focused on strengthening international relations, enhancing economic cooperation, and building mutually beneficial investment frameworks between Nigeria and Liberia.
The series of meetings collectively reflect a strategic effort by the Ooni of Ife to position Yoruba traditional influence within global economic and diplomatic spaces, while promoting cross-border partnerships rooted in trust, security, and shared prosperity.
Other members of the delegation, including Akeem Adebomojo and Paul Kennedy, also contributed to the discussions, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the engagements.
These high-level interactions mark a new chapter in Nigeria–Liberia relations, driven by cultural diplomacy, economic vision, and a commitment to sustainable development through strategic alliances.
