Adegoke: We Took Oath Of Secrecy Over Lodger's Death - Receptionist

As the hearing of the case involving the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin over the alleged murder of a Masters student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, who lodged in the hotel, resumed at the Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo on Wednesday, the receptionist on duty on the day the late student was discovered dead inside the hotel has narrated how she and others took oath of confidentiality to protect the hotel from the adverse effect of the incident.

Chiefuna, under cross-examination by the lead prosecution counsel, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, said she did not know that the deceased was dumped until when she got to police station six days after.

During the court session which lasted for about seven hours as presided over by Chief Justice Oyebola Ojo, Chiefuna said she only heard the deceased had paid for the room when she resumed duty on November 6, but never saw him.

PayDay Deals According to her, when the lodger was not seen at the reception area the following day, she took a spare key to Room 305 and opened the door, where she met Adegoke in the room lying face up and wrapped in duvet exposing only his face on the bed.

In her narration, Chiefuna said she initially thought Adegoke was sleeping, but became scared when she shook his leg and she immediately informed the manager on duty, Adeniyi Aderogba, of her discovery.

Aderogba, she added also went into the room to check Adegoke and came out to declare him dead.

She said the managing director of the hotel, Roheem Adedoyin, shortly after the discovery arrived the hotel and was briefed of the situation by the Manager in company of herself and the receptionist that was to take over duty, Esther Asigor.

She said Adedoyin, upon hearing this administered a oath on them to keep the matter a secret in a way to protect the hotel.
