Olojo Festival Rapid Chess Tournament Season IV: How To Participate

The 2022 edition of the annual Olojo Festival Rapid Chess Tournament organized by Raia Rooks Chess Academy has been scheduled to hold from 30th of September to 1st of October, 2022.

The OFRCT is one of the official activities lined in marking the annual celebration of Olojo, Nigeria's biggest cultural festival, held in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Southwest, Nigeria.

A statement by the Chess Academy, signed by its CEO, Hon. Bisi Awope, said this Year's tournament with the theme, "Give Kids the World: Empowering Youth Minds" will feature awards, medals, cash prizes and a trophy for the overall winner.

Interested participants in the tournament, according to the release are to secure their slots by registering on or before September 29th, 2022.

The statement further added that the tournament is open for brand partnerships, sponsorships and support  from corporate bodies and persons of goodwill towards a successful tournament.

"The theme of our OLOJO FESTIVAL RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT, SEASON, IV, 2022 IS "Give Kids The World, Empowering Youth Minds With Chess". We expect more youth participation than our previous editions. It is important to stress the importance of the Game of Chess to the youths as it builds their mental faculty and enhances their ability to make rational decisions.

"It further keeps them off the streets and restrict them from unnecessary social media engagements. It improves their ability to calculate, boosts their memory and reading skills. They will have opportunity to play with advanced Chess players, elite players and some of Nigeria's top rated Chess players in the midst of national spectators, Chess fans, audiences and families. 

"The Academy therefore solicits for the usual support, sponsorships and partnerships from corporate bodies and well meaning individuals towards the towards the success of this year's tournament", Awope noted.
