Ooni of Ife, Olu of Warri, Others At 14th Olowu's Coronation


The 14th Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Adeola Matemilola, Oluyalo-Otileta VII, was on Saturday officially installed as the monarch of the kingdom in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, presented the staff of office to the monarch with a call on him to see his installation as a call to service towards the development of Owu Kingdom and the state in general.

Eminent traditional rulers present at the occasion include the Ooni of Ife, Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo among others.

Also present at the ceremony were some former governors of the state including Olusegun Osoba and Ibikunle Amosun.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Matemilola assured all sons and daughters of Owu kingdom that he would lead the way and facilitate the growth of the kingdom, calling on groups, religious leaders and individuals in the kingdom to play their part with trust, dedication and unity.
