Oba Yekini Olayemi Olasoji Omisore, Anibijuwon I, the Olu of Aye-Olode Awolowo Town

The ancient town of Ayepe-Olode(Awolowo-Town) in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State was on Friday 11th of November, 2022 witnessed a historical turning point with the coronation and presentation of instrument of appointment to a new King, the Olu of Ayepe Olode, His Royal Majesty, Oba Yekini Olayemi Olasoji Omisore Anibijuwon I, by the Osun State Governor, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola.

Oba Yekeen Olayemi Omisore was born over 60 years ago to the famous family of Anibijuwon Omisore Dynasty, Ogbon-oya compound in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State.

His father, Chief Shittu Olasoji Omisore was the Balogun Musulumi of Ile-Ife and later became High Chief Lowa of the Source during the reign of His Imperial Majesty Oba Adesoji Aderemi while his mother, late Mrs Abeni Omisore, Iya Sunnah of Olorunsogo Mosque, Ogbon- oya hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun state.

He attended St. Peters Anglican Primary School, Oke Esho and Oranmiyan Grammar School, Ile-Ife, Osun State. Having completed his secondary school education, he worked briefly with the then National Bank of Nigeria and later with Investment Credit Corporation both in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He thereafter proceeded to Paris, France in 1977 when he enrolled for French Language course at Alliance Francoise and later graduated from the University of Paris, France with Bachelor of Art (B.A) in Theatre Arts and Cinematography. 

He worked with the Nigerian Television Authority NTA, Ikoyi, Lagos as a permanent staff for 10 years before resigning his appointment to establish his own company, CINE MASTER VENTURE based in Ibadan. He is currently the Director of HUFF Engineering Construction Company.

Until his installation, Oba Olayemi Omisore was the Balogun of Ayepe Olode (Awolowo Town) whose ascension followed the demise of the first Olu of Ayepe-Olode, Oba David Olajide Omisore Omigbade I who joined his ancestors in January this year at the age of 90. 

Oba Yekini Olayemi Omisore is the elder brother of the former Osun  State Deputy Governor and the current National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
