Fuel tanker explodes in Ibadan, Razes goods worth millions of Naira


Goods worth several millions of Naira we're lost on Thursday when a fuel tanker caught fire after it exploded at Apata junction, along the Ibadan/Abeokuta road, Oyo State.

It was learnt that the tanker lost control and rammed into some shops opposite the NNPC filling station before bursting into flames.

Viral videos on social media captured the raging fire, as onlookers and eyewitnesses cried for help.

However, The Nation reported that operatives of the state’s fire service arrived the scene shortly after the fire incident.

The spokesman of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, stating that the Division Police Officer in the area had deployed men to the scene.
