Hoodlums Destroy Osun Rep's Campaign Billboards

Campaign billboards belonging to a serving Federal House of Representatives member, representing Ife Federal Constituency in Osun State, Hon Taofeek Ajilesoro, have in recent times suffer attacks from suspected hoodlums at different locations in Ile-Ife, his home town.

Ajilesoro is contesting for re-election under the banner of the People's Democratic Party, PDP.

A statement on Sunday by the his media team, described the development as barbaric and plot to cause a political crisis. The statement further accused the opposition party, APC of being responsible for the acts.

Part of the statement reads, “Let us, for the purpose of emphasis, warn those behind this plot that they will be matched, not necessarily by an equal measure of violence but by whatever it takes legally to resist such attempt as to intimidate the good people of Ile-Ife or coerce them into submission.

“This will mean that we will not hesitate to mobilise against the violence that is being promoted by the All Progressives Congress.

"We wouldn't have responded or reacted to their act of destruction but it is important that we notify the good people of Ile-Ife, our elders, that if they should continue destroying our billboards, we wouldn't hesitate to give it back to them in their coins. Nobody has monopoly of violence.

“It is on this note that we want to urge the whole world to hold the APC responsible for any breakdown of law and order in Ile-Ife as we will no longer watch destruction of our candidate’s billboards or any other attack on our campaign materials go without a response.”

Meanwhile, the APC is yet to react to the statement.
