Four persons have reportedly lost their lives in a ghastly autocrash in Ile-Ife on Sunday morning.
Eyewitness report says the accident, involving a black Toyota Camry with four occupants, occurred around 4a.m at Oja Tuntun area of the town along Fajuyi road.
The driver had reportedly lost control and plunged into a canal on the roadside.
Further details alleged overspeeding and non-compliance with traffic safety regulations.
Spokesperson to the Nigerian Police, Moore Division confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He advised motorists to always exercise patience while on the roads particularly during this festive period.
"We were called upon and on getting there we discovered that it was a lone accident involving only one vehicle. Further investigation is ongoing on the incident.
"We advise motorists to always take safety precautions whenever they are on the roads most especially during this festive period and even after. We must celebrate the season with moderation. Do not drive if you must drink and avoid overspeeding.
