2023: Makinde Offers Fresh Appeal To Yorubas To Support Tinubu

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Makinde has called on the entire people of South West to speak with one voice and support the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential race.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos, the former Federal lawmaker said, “South Westerners must close ranks, jettison malice, envies and individual differences and work with one mind to avoid slip of this opportunity of making Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria on the platform of All Progressives Congress.

“If we truly love our society, we must stop unnncessary enmity and work for the progress and success of BAT at a time like this.

Makinde who is also a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council noted that people of the Yoruba extraction must also double their effort and ensure that Asiwaju did not only win, but to win "impressively".

“We should not just deliver, but to deliver very impressively. Tinubu is a leader who transforms nothing into something and feeds his people from the riches of what has been so transformed.

“In his time as Lagos State Governor, staff salaries, developmental projects, philanthropic activities never stopped. He has been developing people and he will continue to do that.”

He added that Tinubu remains the best pick from the region having considered his qualities and competencies, calling on the people to fully support the choice.

“Yorubas have to be in the mainstream of Nigeria politics, and Tinubu is the best candidate we have picked from the South West and we must never allow the fifth columnists to truncate our laudable efforts. Meanwhile, for the people of Osun State, APC as a party must be challenged in such a way to show the world that we are truly on ground.

“Tinubu has the charisma, competence, capacity, cerebral disposition and all that it takes to rule this country. We need him to restructure and unite our country, and to foster socio-economic fortunes, engender human capital development and capacity building” Makinde said.
