Visit To Ile-Ife: Ooni's Olori Aderonke Thrilled French Ambassador To Nigeria With Special Ife's Adire Gift (PHOTOS)

French Ambassador to Nigeria, Emmanuelle Blatmann on Tuesday paid a visit to the ancient city of Ile-Ife.

The Diplomat alongside and her entourage were received by the Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife at His Ile Oodua, the Palace.

Emmanuelle, in her goodwill message, reiterated France's desire for a stronger bilateral relationship between the two nations.

The palace reception featured an extensive cultural entertainment for the French nationals by performers from the city.

During the visit, wife of the Ooni and Founder/CEO of Adire Oodua Textile Hub, Ile-Ife, Olori Aderonke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi excited Her Excellency with a special branded Adire scarf with the Eiffel Tower design.

Adire is a significant textile invention native to Ile-Ife, a Yoruba city in Southwest Nigeria. The city preserves and promotes the material due to its huge cultural and economic values through the ADIRE OODUA TEXTILE TRAINING AND PRODUCTION HUB situated in the city.

The hub has since inception been enjoying the support and sponsorship of His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife particularly through His Royal Adire Training Program at the hub where over 5000 youths and women have been trained and empowered for free with skills in adire making.
