Ile-Ife: Raia Rooks Chess Club Partners Prince Adeyinka Adewole to Host 2023 Olojo Festival Chess Championship

Raia Rooks Chess Club, Ile-Ife has unveiled the Vice President of the Nigerian Chess Federation and CEO, Capablanca Farms Limited, Prince Adeyinka Adewole as the Organizing Partner for the 2023 edition of the annual Olojo Festival World Chess Championship.

The RRCC CEO, Hon. Adebisi Awope who also doubles as the Vice Chairman of the Osun State Chess Association, disclosed this on Monday while updating this medium on the preparation for the fifth edition of the tournament.

Prince Adeyinka is an internationally renowned Chess player and administrator with years of track records in Chess promotion both at the national and the local levels, particularly in his home city of Ile-Ife.

The event, Awope noted will feature 4-round rapid games using Swiss system after which 32 best players will proceed into the knock-out stage.

The 2023 edition of the OFWCC, according to him, is scheduled to hold from Friday 22nd to Saturday 23rd September, 2023 at the Ife Grand Resorts and Industrial Hub, Ile-Ife.

He added that the sporting event is geard towards promoting the noble game of Chess, advancing local tourism and celebrating with the Ooni and the people of Ile-Ife during this important moment in the ancient city.
