The Arole Oduduwa and Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has said that the country Nigeria is in a continuous search for truely selfless leaders to lead the country to greatness.
The Ooni stated this on Sunday in a special message to mark the nation's 63rd independence anniversary.
Ooni Ogunwusi who has, over the weekend, been receiving dignitaries from across the country and the diaspora as the city celebrates the annual Olojo Festival, stressed on the nation's endowment with abundant human and material resources to power its desired greatness.
The revered monarch who doubles as the Co-chairman, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, NCTRN, urged the country’s leaders to look within and with passion in their efforts to finding lasting solutions to the nation's myriads of problems.
"Today, we gather to commemorate and reflect on another watershed moment in the development of our nation, a monument to our shared strength, cooperation, and steadfast determination.
"Our nation, Nigeria, continues to yearn for the most selfless leadership, people of honour and passion dedicated to tackling and resolving the various difficulties that plague our collective existence. We are endowed with infinite human capacity and abundant resources, making us one of the most prosperous nations on earth.
"On this occasion of our 63rd independence celebration, I urge our leaders to patriotically look within and with passion for the greatness of Nigeria when searching for solutions to our numerous problems. It is my prayer that this new year would usher in a genuine shift and economic recovery for every household and our nation.", Ooni stated.
