Ifewara: Over 8,000 People To Benefit From RCCG, Others Free Surgeries, Medical Treatment - Foundation Chairman


More than 8,000 people are to benefit from the free surgeries and medical treatment with counseling from Redeemer Health Center in partnership with Jennifer Etuh Foundation and Pro-Health International Africa medical outreach.

Dr Dare Olulana, the Chairman of the Board of Management of Jennifer Etuh Foundation, made the disclosure at the Flag-off of Free Medical & Surgeries Outreach towards the 76th Birthday of Pastor Folu Adeboye at Jennifer Etuh Medical Centre Ifewara, Osun State.

Olulana said that annually, the health centre of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) celebrates Mrs Adeboye's birthday with free medical treatment and surgery for many people to benefit and usually done at Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Consultant Paediatrician at University College Hospital,Ibadan, explained that her birthday comes up in July 13th, but due to some events of the day led to earlier outreach.

He stated that no fewer than 5,000 benefitted free services and 2,500 surgeries in 2023.

According to him, professionals all over the countries,like Consultants, Opticians, Optometrics, Ophthalmologists, Dental Clinicians, Dental Technicians,Pharmacist and Nurses among other partake in the exercise.

The Consultant Paediatrician explained further that People from nook and crannies of Nigeria are to benefit from the programme in terms of aenea surgeries, fibroid surgeries , goitre, various orthopaedic surgeries, opthalmologist surgeries and laboratory test among others freely.

Also, Pastor Ayo Ajisola, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 3, Ile-Ife, said that a week programme from 6th to 10th May, has dedicated to treat the beneficiaries freely of any kind of diseases diagnosed for, even to surgery level.

The Regional Pastor emphasised that free eye test with glasses among other surgeries would be done accordingly, adding that children are not excluded in the medical outreach for oppressed and less privileged to be delivered.

According to him, religion body is trying their best to ensure relief and succour to everyone that comes their ways, while government too are commended for contributing their quota in all sectors  despite the economic challenges.

He appealed to three tiers of governments to prioritise healthcare delivery by increasing funding the health sectors, provide modern 

facilities and employ more medical personnel into government hospitals.

Ajisola urged political leaders and those aspiring for future leaders to include health as part of their agenda, for health is wealth.

In the same vein, Dr Olufemi Adefehinti, Consultant paediatrician, called on government to make children healthcare free in Nigeria and to allow all and sundry to have access to healthcare insurance scheme services across the nation.

One of the beneficiary, Mr Oladipo Awoyele, who benefitted from aenea surgery, lauded the organisers of the programme for given the treatment free of charge for those that cannot afford hospital bills.

Awoyele, a native of Ile-Ife said has been diagnosed of aenea, but cannot afford the payment at hospital, but thank God for the opportunity given, saying was discharged without any problem immediately after the surgery with drugs given.
