Ooni Celebrates Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on His 68th Birthday


The Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, and Natural Head of the Yoruba race, His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has extended heartfelt congratulations to a distinguished son of Oduduwa land, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, on the occasion of his 68th birthday.

In a statement signed by Otunba Moses Olafare, Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni's Palace, the revered monarch described Aregbesola, a former Executive Governor of Osun State and former Honourable Minister of Interior, as more than a political figure.

He hailed him as an institution of progressive ideology, a grassroots mobilizer, and an unwavering defender of the common people.

“Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is a true comrade and revolutionary thinker whose contributions to participatory democracy and infrastructural transformation in Lagos and Osun States are undeniable,” the Ooni stated. 

“His politics has consistently been people-centric, anchored on sustainable development and social justice.”

Ooni Ogunwusi further extolled Aregbesola as a strong-willed descendant of Oduduwa, commending his political consistency, ideological discipline, and steadfast loyalty to progressive causes.

He described the celebrant as a symbol of hope and resilience whose intellectual depth and passion for governance continue to inspire a new generation of leaders across Yorubaland and Nigeria.

“As he marks this significant milestone of 68 impactful years, the House of Oduduwa joins well-wishers across the world in praying for continued good health, divine grace, and renewed strength for Ogbeni Aregbesola,” the statement read.

“May his wisdom remain a guiding light for justice, equity, and good governance in our land.” The Ooni concluded with words of royal blessings: “Ire o! Aseyi samodun! Afon a gbo kaka ko to wo!”
