“We are very pleased with the Forest Guard structure and the new platform that seeks to deploy additional security personnel to comb forests across the country, both in the North and South,” the monarch stated. “Security is the foundation of economic prosperity. Once this is addressed, a strong platform for foreign and local investments will naturally follow.”
Oba Ogunwusi emphasized the importance of community-based security solutions, stressing that the President’s grassroots-oriented approach offers renewed hope for stability and sustainable development.
Beyond security, the Ooni commended President Tinubu’s efforts in strengthening Nigeria’s international image. He shared insights from his recent visit to Kazakhstan, revealing that several countries are now expressing increased interest in partnering with Nigeria due to the current administration’s policies.
“Nigeria is becoming more attractive on the global stage,” he noted. “The government’s economic reforms, particularly the unification of the foreign exchange market, have eliminated arbitrage. Investors can now bring in dollars, do business, and repatriate profits without navigating dual exchange systems between the Central Bank and the parallel market.”
The traditional leader called on Nigerians, especially youth, to remain hopeful and actively contribute to the country’s progress. He also emphasized the pivotal role of traditional rulers in fostering unity and supporting government initiatives.
“Traditional rulers must lead by example, work collaboratively with government institutions, and inspire our youth,” he said. “This administration is demonstrating that there is indeed a future to believe in, and it is our collective responsibility to build it.”
Oba Ogunwusi's visit and statements add to growing endorsements of the Tinubu administration's security and economic policies, particularly at a time when the nation continues to tackle complex security and development challenges.
