Registration Opens July 21, Screening Holds Online September 1–5
Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has announced the commencement of its 2025 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for prospective candidates seeking admission into the institution.
In a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. K. A. Bakare, the university disclosed that online registration for the screening exercise will open on Monday, 21st July 2025, and will close on Sunday, 24th August 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who selected OAU as their first choice in the 2025 UTME and scored 200 and above, as well as those who applied for Direct Entry (DE), are eligible to participate in the screening.
The university further advised prospective applicants to visit the admission portal at https://admissions.oauife.edu.ng for comprehensive guidelines, especially those applying through UTME, DE, as foreign applicants, or candidates living with disabilities.
Step-by-Step Registration Process
To successfully register, eligible candidates are required to:
1. Visit the OAU admission portal via https://admissions.oauife.edu.ng
2. Log in using their UTME Registration Number as username and their Surname as password (not case-sensitive).
3. Complete the online biodata form and proceed.
4. Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) strictly from the portal and use it to make a ₦2,000 (excluding portal access charges) payment online or at any commercial bank.
5. Re-login after successful payment to continue the registration process.
Screening Schedule and Important Dates
The statement revealed that the screening exercise will be conducted online. Candidates are required to check the portal from Thursday, 27th August 2025, to confirm their screening date and time. The actual screening will take place between Monday, 1st September and Friday, 5th September 2025.
Warnings and Important Notes
OAU strongly warned applicants against providing false information or uploading incorrect credentials, noting that such actions would result in automatic disqualification.
The university also reiterated its position against patronizing Post-UTME agents or admission middlemen, emphasizing that all application processes must be carried out through the official portal.
