The Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has extended warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Nigerians worldwide on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message released to mark the historic day, the foremost traditional ruler described Nigeria’s independence as a priceless legacy secured by the courage and foresight of the nation’s founding fathers, whose sacrifices paved the way for freedom and self-determination.
“As a nation blessed with profound cultural heritage, rich diversity, and abundant human and natural resources, we must continue to uphold the values of unity, peace, and progress that define the spirit of our independence,” the Ooni stated.
Acknowledging the prevailing economic and social challenges confronting the country, the monarch urged Nigerians not to lose sight of the immense opportunities that lie ahead, stressing that the nation’s resilience and ingenuity remain its strongest assets.
“This milestone anniversary must renew our collective resolve to build a just and prosperous Nigeria, where every citizen can thrive with dignity and hope,” he affirmed.
The spiritual leader of the Yoruba race further prayed for divine guidance for President Tinubu and other leaders as they steer the affairs of the nation, expressing optimism that Nigeria will rise to its full potential as the pride of Africa and a beacon of hope for generations to come.
He concluded by calling on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to remain steadfast in the pursuit of unity and shared progress, assuring that the future of the nation remains bright despite current hurdles.
