Olori Temitope Ogunwusi Receives Global Appointment as World Investment Summit Group Special Envoy

A significant international honour has been bestowed upon Her Regal Majesty, Olori Ambassador (Dr) Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, as she has been formally acknowledged as the Special Envoy and Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the World Investment Summit Group, further elevating the global profile of the House of Oduduwa and the ancient kingdom of Ile-Ife.

The recognition was formally acknowledged during a high-level visit to the Board Chairman of the World Investment Summit Group, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, CFR, where Olori Temitope Ogunwusi was received alongside the Director-General and Convener-General of the organization, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, and members of her entourage.

According to the Olori, the occasion served as an official affirmation of her appointment to the prestigious global role, one that reflects her longstanding commitment to humanitarian service, women and youth empowerment, education advocacy, and socio-economic development.

Speaking on the significance of the appointment, the Director-General reportedly described the selection as one that required no contest, emphasizing that the Olori’s years of impactful service, leadership, and dedication to humanity had already spoken in her favour.

For many observers, the appointment is yet another testament to the growing influence of the House of Oduduwa on the global stage. Beyond her role as the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Her Regal Majesty has carved a respected identity through philanthropy, education support initiatives, advocacy for women and children, entrepreneurship development, and international engagements aimed at fostering positive social impact.

The development also reflects the increasing recognition of Yoruba traditional institutions as important partners in global conversations on development, cultural diplomacy, investment, and community advancement. Under the leadership of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the throne of Oduduwa has continued to project Ile-Ife as not only the spiritual and cultural birthplace of the Yoruba people but also as a centre of influence, innovation, and international engagement.

As Queen Consort of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Temitope Ogunwusi has consistently championed initiatives designed to improve lives, empower vulnerable communities, and create opportunities for young people. Her elevation to the position of Special Envoy and Ambassador Plenipotentiary is therefore widely seen as recognition of both personal achievement and the enduring values of service, leadership, and community development associated with the royal household of Ile-Ife.

The appointment further strengthens the voice of Yoruba culture and heritage within global development circles, providing another platform through which the rich traditions, values, and aspirations of the Yoruba people can be represented before international stakeholders.

Accepting the responsibility, the Olori described the appointment as a call to service, pledging to discharge the duties of the office with grace, dedication, and purpose in the interest of the people she serves.

The recognition adds another distinguished chapter to the growing legacy of the House of Oduduwa, reinforcing the position of Ile-Ife—the cradle of Yoruba civilization—as a source of leadership, cultural pride, and global relevance.
