WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY: OSUN JOURNALISTS ARE THOROUGH-BRED PROFESSIONALS, PARTNERS IN PROGRESS, SAYS EGBEMODE

Mrs Funke Egbemode, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, State of Osun

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation in the State of Osun, Mrs Funke Egbemode has lauded the media practitioners in the State for their professionalism and tenacity of purpose as this Year's World Press Freedom Day celebrations hold.

In a goodwill message addressed to the media men, Mrs Egbemode described media professionals in the state as good and thorough bred, while also commending them for their love and support for the present administration in the State led by Governor Gboyega Oyetola. 

Mrs Egbemode while acknowledging the need for improved working condition in bringing out the best in the media practitioners however used the opportunity of this Year's commemoration to solicit for continuous support from the press in Osun and by extension Nigeria and globally as the case may be in partnering for common good, progress and prosperity of the state.

"I commend members of the Fourth Estate of the realm in the State of Osun. They are not only exemplars in this noble trade but thoroughly groomed professionals who have been partners in progress for the Oyetola led administration in the last two years. We have never had it so good and rewarding", She said.

A former President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Egbemode described the theme of this Year's celebrations which is "Information as a public good" as the right choice and resonates well with prevailing global realities manifested in the increasing quest for using information as an important ingredient for positive change and human advancement.
