GOVERNOR OYETOLA FLAGS-OFF POWER PROJECTS IN IFE SOUTH

In less than a week after commissioning a newly reconstructed 8.1km Moro-Yakoo-Ipetumodu-Asipa-Ife road project in Ife North, The Osun State Governor, His Excellency  Adegboyega Oyetola again on Tuesday 29th June, 2021 flagged-off the construction of Ile-Ife/Garage-Olode 33Kv power supply line and rehabilitation of Ifetedo/Garage-Olode 33Kv power supply line in Ife South Local Government Area of the State. The project which is in collaboration with the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) is being executed to restore light to the affected communities after over a decade old of darkness. The state government of Osun has reacted to the the recent clash involving a traditional religious group and muslims in Osogbo, the State Capital which led to the unfortunate death of one person and several others injured.  The government in a delegation led by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Abdullah Binuyo, on an on-site assessment of the crime scene as well as a solidarity visit to the victims receiving treatment at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital called on the residents of the state, especially religious and ethnic groups, on the need to coexist peacefully in order to maintain the peace profile of the state. Nine distinguished personalities and indigenes of the State are to be awarded for their invaluable contributions to the development of the society at the Grand Finale of This Year's Face of Osun Pageant (The Rebirth Edition). The Pageant Director, Omo Oba Timi Abiri disclosed this on Monday while briefing journalists in Osogbo, the State Capital. Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Thursday commissioned the newly reconstructed Moro-Yakoyo-Ipetumodu-Asipa-Ife Road in Ife North Local Government Area of the State, a gesture that has been greeted with massive accolades on the Governor by community leaders, residents and motorists plying the road. The project, an 8.1km road which was first constructed with stone-base in 1976, 45 Years ago before Governor Oyetola's intervention is a strategic economic and infrastructural masterpiece linking four out of the seven major original communities (The Origbo Meje) that make up the entire Local Government, though now six with the defunct of Isope to Ife, the urban centre. The other two being Akinlalu and Edunabon. The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has emphasized the need for all the members of the University community to always observe the Covid-19 safety protocols as the institution resumes for the 2019/2020 Rain Semester. A high-ranking group of elders in Ile-Ife have sent strong warning to inhabitants of the ancient city to maintain peace as June 12 remembrance is to be celebrated. The Elders made this known in a statement following a peace meeting led by High Chief Adekola Adeyeye, Lowa of Ife and Oba Idowu Adediwura, Obalufe of Ife with the security agencies in Ifeland on Friday as reported by McDonald Oladipo of The SOURCE Newspaper.
