Lagos Rail Lines To Open For Operation By First Quarter Of 2023 - Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured Lagosians that the Red and Blue Lines Rail projects will be completed by the end of the year and commence full operation by first quarter in 2023.

Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this on Friday while featuring on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily where he talked about some of his administration's ongoing infrastructural projects and governance issues in the state.

The Governor in an engaging session with Channels' Chamberlain Uzor, Kayode Okikiolu, Maupe Ogun Yusuf and Ayo Makinde addressed the State's integrated approach to providing affordable public transportation in the state through road expansions and jetties built in strategic locations in the state for easy commute.

"On Badagry Expressway which is a Federal road and an international gateway, work is currently going on the 10-lane road and we are working to complete the remaining 20-kilometre stretch to Agbara alongside the link bridges to meet the section from Agbara to Seme Border that is currently being done by the Federal Government.

"For our people in Ikorodu, we are working on major roads and I must say that one road where I am always getting a lot of flak is the Agric-Ishawo Road.

"It is a massive road we are constructing into 6 lanes when it should actually be 4 lanes and we are dealing with all the issues causing the delays on the road.", the Governor said.

The Governor also addressed the 4th Mainland Bridge project which he said is planned to be delivered under Public Private Partnership(PPP).

He reiterated his administration's commitment to serving the people of the state diligently which he said is evident through the various projects.

"From about 30 companies that expressed interest we are now at the final stage with three shortlisted companies and I am hoping by March we should have completed the process.

"I want to say our administration is doing well, even if I do say so myself and our people can also testify to the progress we are making across board.

"I made a promise to serve Lagosians diligently and I intend to continue to do that with all the vigor and energy in me.", Sanwo-Olu added.
