Lagos Rail Lines To Open For Operation By First Quarter Of 2023 - Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured Lagosians that the Red and Blue Lines Rail projects will be completed by the end of the year and commence full operation by first quarter in 2023. Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this on Friday while featuring on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily where he talked about some of his administration's ongoing infrastructural projects and governance issues in the state. Lagos Government Suspends NURTW Activities In Strategic Locations Following Violence

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu The Lagos State Government on Tuesday suspended the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) activities at Eyin Eyo, Church Street and Idumota Bridge indefinitely due to the recent violence in the areas. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa, to find a lasting solution to the frequent crisis occasioned by the activities of the transport unions, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr. Oluwatoyin Fayinka, said the ban was instituted to prevent further violence at Idumota and environs. He informed that the Lagos State Parks Monitoring Authority would resume at Eyin Eyo while the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) will station an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) on Idumota Bridge to deter motorists from driving against traffic in compliance with traffic rules and regulations as well as to enforce the suspension of the NURTW activities within the axis. SOUTH-WEST: Radio Lagos Seeks Netherlands' Support For Staff Capacity Building

The General Manager, Radio Lagos/EKO FM, Mr. Jide Lawal, has called for full collaboration in areas that would mutually benefit the broadcast stations and the Consulate of Netherlands. Lawal spoke when he led the management team of the media outfits on a visit to the Consul-General, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Michel Deelen, in Lagos. He expressed the desire of Radio Lagos and Eko FM to support the Consulate in disseminating information on immigration policies, procedures and other activities in Nigeria. The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the winner of the 2021 Season Six Big Brother Naija Reality TV Show, Whitemoney on Sunday displayed their culinary skills at the opening of the maiden edition of the Lagos Food Festival held at Justice Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island. Clad in a black apron, the Governor set up the symbolic outdoor kitchen and prepared stir fried rice, the official meal of the occasion, in the full glare of the public. Sanwo-Olu assisted the guest chef, Whitemoney to deliver the Lagos delicacy made from onion, smoked fish, mixed granules of bonga fish and crayfish, pepper and seasoning. Yoruba Traditional Religious Leaders Converge, Set Up "Irorun Ile Kaaro Oojire"

Leaders of prominent Yoruba traditional and religious interest groups across the South-West on Saturday converged in the ancient City of Ile-Ife, the spiritual headquarters of the Yoruba race to dialogue on pressing security issues affecting the region. The National Traditional Secretary and Head, Legal Affairs, Obatala Agbaye Temple, Ile-Ife, Aare Oladotun Hassan, Esq who led the team, in a release on Tuesday said the summit was in a bid to build a common synergy among all Yoruba traditional and other religious faith leaders so as to jointly cub the excesses of criminals in Yoruba Land.
