Easter: Ooni Joins Christians In Celebration, Says It Is A Moment Of Joyful Renewal

The Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ọjájá II on Sunday joined Christian faithfuls all over the world in the celebration of Easter, a season celebrated every year by adherents of the Christian faith to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ while on Earth.

Ooni in a special Easter message described the season as a moment characterised by sacrifice and joyful renewal.

The foremost traditional ruler enjoined everyone to celebrate the moment in gratitude for the gift of life despite the challenges currently facing the country.

"I join all the Christian believers in the celebration of this season because of the sacrifice and joyful renewal that it brings. Sacrifice is the ultimate expression of love, redemption, and the highest demonstration of devotion to the freedom of others.

"Despite the fact that this year's celebration occurs at a time when our nation faces many precarious situations, the message of gratitude and tribute for the life that we have continues to illuminate our sense of acknowledgement of Eledumare’s supremacy over our world.", Ooni said.

The Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigerian, NCTRN while urging people to see new hope ahead of the current situations further charged them to take advantage of the moment to pray for enduring peace in the nation. 

"Seasons like this, with contrite hearts, set our minds to find consolation in virtue of faithfulness and expression of belief in triumph over evils as we pray for the peace in our nation.

"May this season inspire you to embrace new hope, and may you find comfort, joy, and prevailing grace during this season with a strong reminder that the lingering challenges upon our nation shall pass, and Nigeria will emerge stronger with prosperity, peace, justice, and equity.
