The Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, on Friday, 14th of October, 2022, welcomed a new queen, Princess Ashley Afolashade Adegoke Ogunwusi, into his royal court.
Princess Ashley, a member of the Lafogido ruling House of Ile-Ife, holds a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich and is a chartered accountant.
She runs several businesses in the UK and is also the founder of the Ashley Adegoke Foundation, which supports underprivileged children and widows.
Queen Ashley is one of the recent additions to the Ooni's royal court, joining the ranks of his other wives, including Olori Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda and Tobi Phillips, a former beauty queen and graduate of Marine Science from the University of Lagos.
The Ooni has been married previously, including to Adebukola Bombata in 2008 and Zainab-Otiti Obanor in 2016, both of which ended in divorce.
His most recent marriage before Queen Ashley was to Olori Silekunola in 2018, with whom he had a son before they parted ways in December 2021.
On Tuesday, 3rd of September, 2024, Olori Folashade at a London Hospital, gave birth to her first son, a double prince for the Ooni.
