QMA Cultural Pageant: Contestants screened as camp opens on Sunday


At least 45 ladies who applied to wear the Queen Moremi Ajansoro cultural pageant crown have been auditioned and screened at the ancient Ile Oodua Palace of Ile-Ife in preparation for the annual contest.

The screening which is the first phase of the exercise ended on Tuesday, with the applicants expressing willingness and readiness to compete healthily with their counterparts for the prestigious crown.

Addressing newsmen at the venue, the Moremi Ajansoro Global Ambassador, Olori Aderonke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, explained that the focus of the pageantry is to imbibe the spirit of leadership and other virtues in young girls and women.

"We want to groom leaders by inspiring young girls and women with the legendary story of Moremi, we want to show support for girl child education, more political participation and many more in line with the development agenda of our father, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II and our patron, Chief (Mrs.) Funsho Amosun.

Olori Aderonke stressed that there are loads of gifts for winners including cash prizes and brand new car among others. She added that camp will be opened to the screened applicants on Sunday, November 27, 2022 while the grand finale is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022.
