Osun Monarch, Olu of Famia, Oba Kamoru Akinyele Is Dead


The Olu of Famia in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Oba (Barr.) Kamoru Abimbola Akinyele, Ijeni I, has joined his ancestors.

Oba Akinyele died earlier on Saturday morning after a brief illness. The monarch, a London trained legal practitioner and member of the prestigious Inner Temple, was a member of the House of Representatives during the second republic.

He was called to the Nigerian Bar on Saturday 12 July 1969 and was in active legal practice until His ascension to the royal stool. 

The owner of the popular Oranmiyan Chambers, a leading law firm in Lagos State where many top legal practitioners were groomed, Late Oba Akinyele was an Icon in the legal profession. He was 85.
