Things You Need To Know As Ooni Hosts Devotees At 2023 Alaragbo Festival In Ile-Ife


The 2023 edition of the annual Alaragbo Festival in Ile-Ife has been scheduled to hold from Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th June, 2023.

Alaragbo is a festival celebrating the Orisa Egbe also known as Alaraagbo, a deity of covenant fulfillment and a lively spiritual entity that believes in people making good their promises made in heaven.

The festival will also be marking very notably the first year anniversary of the installation of Chief (Mrs) Osunbunmi Egbeyemi Abike Ifasemilore as the Yeye Alaragbo Oodua by his Imperial Majesty, Arole Oduduwa Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife.

Highlights of the 5-day event which will have the Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, the Ooni of Ife as the Chief Host are as follows:

Day One: Wednesday 21st June, 2023: Quiz Competition featuring Schools from the four Local Governments in Ife.

Day Two: Thursday, 22nd June, 2023: Unveiling of empowerment initiative for the widows with music performance by Egbetola.

Day Three: Friday, 23rd June, 2023: Optical treatment and Eye Glass Giveaways

Day Four: Saturday, 24th June, 2023: Alaragbo Virgin Night and Cultural Competitions with special music performance by Saidi Akande.

Day Five: Sunday, 25th June, 2023: Grand Finale at Ooni's Palace, Enuwa Ile-Ife by 12noon with music performance by Alhaji Sefiu Alao.

The festival is expected to be graced by thousands of African Traditional Religion faithfuls and guests from different parts of the world.
