Family of Slain Osun Cleric Alleges Plot to Delay Justice, Appeals to IGP

Family of slain Pastor of Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Omitoto, Ilode, Ile-Ife, Snr Evangelist Morris Fadehan has called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to ensure justice is served in the alleged murder of their breadwinner inside CCC, Grace of Comfort, Ilode, Ile-Ife on Monday, February 26, 2024.

The family members who addressed a press conference in Osogbo through one of the deceased daughters, Fadehan Ayotomiwa, appealed to the concerned authorities not to allow the case to be swept under the carpet.

In an emotion laden voice, Ayotomiwa further called on NGOs and International community to lend voices to their predicament saying, life has been miserable for the immediate members of the family since the death of their breadwinner.

She said “We are of the opinion that, if police could be determined to intensify their investigation on the broad-day killing, more culprits could be arrested as they have arrested one person in connection with the crime

“Though the Nigeria Police Force apprehended one suspect who we were told confessed to the callous killing of our easy-going father, we believe more needed to be done on it.

“There have been several misunderstandings between the deceased and the suspect. Anytime this happened, he (the suspect) had many supporters in the church that he always used against the deceased.

“He couldn’t have carried out the dastard act alone on that day without assistance from his co-haters of the deceased in the church.

"We wish to let the general public know that since the inception of the case, some of us have been receiving several strange calls to drop the case”.
