Governor Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering the creative economy as a key driver of sustainable development in Osun State.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the Osun SDG Creative Conference, which officially commenced at the SDG Skills Acquisition Center in Iragbiji, the governor emphasized the vital role of culture, innovation, and entrepreneurship in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
The two-day onsite conference and one-day field trip is organized by the Osun SDG team under the leadership of Mr. Bamikole Omishore, the Special Adviser on SDGs and Multilateral Relations. The event has drawn over 500 participants eager to explore creative solutions for sustainable growth.
In his address, Governor Adeleke encouraged attendees to collaborate, innovate, and build a thriving creative ecosystem that will drive economic and social progress across the state. He noted that the initiative aligns with his government’s broader vision of integrating tradition with progress to create long-term prosperity.
A major highlight of the event was the announcement of a ₦500 million funding pledge by FewChore Finance, delivered through its Executive Director, Oluwafemi Muyiwa Badewole.
The fund aims to support creative entrepreneurs in Osun State under the Osun SDG Creatives initiative. Additionally, FewChore Finance revealed plans to expand its branch network into Osun, signaling increased investment opportunities in the state’s creative sector.
The Osun SDG Creative Conference underscores the growing recognition of the creative industry as a catalyst for sustainable development, with stakeholders, government officials, and private sector players working together to unlock the state's economic potential.
