Owa Obokun: Palace Adjusts Ilesa Curfew to Accommodate Lent, Ramadan Observances

The Palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Osun State, has announced a revision of the curfew hours in Ilesa ahead of the coronation rites of Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland.

Initially scheduled from 6:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025, to 6:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the curfew has now been adjusted to 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM to accommodate Christian and Muslim faithful observing the Lenten and Ramadan fasts.

During the curfew period, both human and vehicular movement within Ilesa will be restricted, with security agencies deployed to enforce compliance and maintain public order.

The curfew is a significant part of the traditional rites leading up to Oba Haastrup’s formal ascension to the throne, ensuring a smooth and sacred coronation process.

Residents have been advised to adhere strictly to the new curfew hours, while the public is encouraged to stay updated through official channels for any further announcements.
