Royal Joy in the House of Oduduwa as Ooni of Ife Welcomes Twin Princes from Olori Mariam

Joy and celebration are currently spreading across Ile-Ife, the Yoruba kingdom, and among admirers of the throne of Oduduwa worldwide following the announcement by the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, of the arrival of twin princes into the royal household.

The revered monarch broke the news through his verified Instagram handle, @ooniadimulaife, where he expressed gratitude to Almighty God for what he described as His wondrous works and abundant blessings upon the House of Oduduwa.

“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again!” the monarch wrote in the announcement.

The Ooni further extended congratulations to the royal household and to Olori Mariam Ogunwusi on the safe arrival of the newborn princes.

“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of a prince and a prince to the royal throne of Oduduwa today,” the monarch stated.

The palace also confirmed that both the queen and the newborn princes are in good health.

“We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health,” the statement added.

The announcement has since triggered an outpouring of congratulatory messages from Yoruba sons and daughters, traditional institutions, cultural enthusiasts, and admirers of the Ooni across Nigeria and the diaspora, many describing the development as a moment of double joy for the Source.

Olori Mariam Ogunwusi, who holds the revered title of Yeyeluwa of the Source, remains one of the prominent queens within the royal household and is widely known for her graceful public presence, cultural engagements, and support for humanitarian causes associated with the palace.

The birth of the twin princes is being celebrated by many as a symbolic moment of continuity for one of Africa’s most historically revered royal institutions - the ancient throne of Oduduwa, which remains a powerful symbol of Yoruba identity, heritage, spirituality, and unity globally.

As celebrations continue within and beyond the ancient city of Ile-Ife, prayers have continued pouring in for the royal household, with many wishing the newborn princes long life, strength, wisdom, and divine favour.
