The power of gospel music, energetic drumming and collective worship took centre stage in Ile-Ife as Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers presented Praises to the God of Wonders 2.0, a special gathering of praise and worship themed “His Wonders Never End,” drawn from Psalm 136:4.
Held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Oke-Iye Living Chapel, Opa, Ile-Ife, the programme brought together worshippers, invited gospel music ministers and performers for an afternoon of praise, prayer and thanksgiving celebrating God’s wondrous works.
At the heart of the gathering was Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers, the host ensemble whose musical contribution placed live drumming and coordinated performance at the forefront of the worship experience. The event provided a platform for the group to showcase its musical talents while bringing together different expressions of gospel music in an atmosphere of faith and joyful worship.
The second edition of Praises to the God of Wonders featured a sequence of musical ministrations, prayers and the Word of Exaltation, offering worshippers opportunities to express gratitude and reflect on the programme’s central message: God’s wonders never end.
The musical lineup included invited ministers Amb. Queen Sheba, Mrs Oriowo Olamide and Princess Ewa, alongside Boundless Crew, whose participation added to the range of performances at the gathering.
The combination of guest performances and ministrations by the host ensemble gave the gathering a varied musical structure, with different performers contributing to the atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving.
For Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers, the programme offered an opportunity to demonstrate the value of live percussion in gospel music and organised worship. Drumming plays an important role in many Nigerian praise traditions, providing rhythmic direction, complementing vocal performances and adding energy to congregational worship.
Beyond accompanying singers, a coordinated drumming ensemble can help shape the pace and atmosphere of a musical presentation, bringing together rhythm, timing and performance in support of the overall experience. Through its role in hosting Praises to the God of Wonders 2.0, Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers placed these musical elements at the centre of a dedicated gathering of praise.
The programme also highlighted the place of gospel music groups and live performers in religious events, where musical talent serves both a spiritual purpose and an important role in creating memorable experiences for worshippers.
The gathering was held under the royal patronage of His Imperial Majesty, Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Akande Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, who was designated Grand Royal Father, and Her Regal Majesty, Olori Amb. Dr Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, who served as Grand Royal Mother.
Although the Ooni of Ife and Olori Temitope were not physically present at the event, their designation in these capacities formed part of the programme’s announced royal patronage, reflecting its connection to the traditional and community life of Ile-Ife.
Other distinguished personalities recognised at the gathering included Mr and Mrs Alayi, who were named Special Guests of Honour; Senior Prophetess Kebinde A. Afolayan, who served as Mother of the Day; and Venerable Bukola Adesoji, Pastor Isaac Adigun, Pastor Ayodeji Olowoporoku, Pastor Prophet Adeleye and Pastor Ololu Fadipe, who were designated Fathers of the Day.
Their inclusion among the programme’s recognised guests added to the gathering’s representation of religious leaders and other distinguished personalities, complementing an event centred on gospel music, prayer and collective thanksgiving.
The programme took place at Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Oke-Iye Living Chapel, under the leadership of its General Overseer, Most Senior Superintendent Apostle Bankole Omisope Banmosun, alongside Senior Apostolic Mother Prophetess Omonike Omisope Banmosun, popularly known as Woli Agbaye.
The church’s setting provided a place for the gathering’s combination of worship, prayer, musical ministrations and spiritual reflection, bringing participants together around the theme of enduring divine wonders.
With “His Wonders Never End” as its guiding message, the programme centred on thanksgiving and the expression of faith through music and collective worship. Its structure, which combined invited guest artists, drumming performances, prayer and exaltation, offered different ways for participants to engage with the theme.
For Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers, the event also represented an opportunity to strengthen its profile within the gospel music space. Platforms that bring together musical ensembles and invited ministers can provide opportunities for collaboration, audience engagement and wider recognition of performers’ abilities.
As gospel music continues to occupy an important place in Nigeria’s religious and entertainment landscape, live ensembles contribute to the diversity of musical expression within the genre. Their work brings together percussion, coordination and performance in support of worship while creating opportunities to participate in church programmes, praise concerts, gospel celebrations and other faith-centred events.
The second edition of Praises to the God of Wonders therefore served not only as a gathering dedicated to praise and thanksgiving but also as a platform for musical expression, with Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers at the centre of its organisation and delivery.
Ultimately, the programme brought its central message into focus: God’s wonders never end, and praise remains a meaningful expression of gratitude, faith and thanksgiving. Through the gathering, Ara-Ire Dynamic Drummers and the invited performers contributed to an afternoon dedicated to celebrating that message in Ile-Ife.
