2023 Rescheduled Elections: OAU Announces New Resumption Date



Following the postponement of the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has announced a shift of the resumption date from Wednesday, 15th March, 2023 to Tuesday, 21st March, 2023.

The University in a release signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju as obtained by IFECITYBLOG on Sunday, noted that students are expected back on campus on Monday, 20th March, 2023 and resume academic activities as scheduled.

"Consequent upon the postponement of the Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly elections  by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the University administration hereby notifies the general public, particularly students, that the resumption of academic activities earlier scheduled for 15th March, 2023, has been shifted to Tuesday, 21st March, 2023

"Consequently, students are expected back on campus on Monday, 20th March, 2023, and to resume academic activities accordingly. We wish our students a safe trip back to the Campus.", the statement read.

The nation's Electoral Umpire had announced the postponement of its lections earlier scheduled for Saturday, 11th March, 2023 to Saturday 18th March, 2023 over what it described as technical needs.
