The Chief of Staff to President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has lauded Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and his administration for what he described as a “phenomenal job” both at the state and national levels.
Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Osun State Government House in Osogbo, ahead of his keynote address at the maiden edition of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Annual Lecture.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives praised Governor Adeleke for demonstrating statesmanship by prioritizing governance over partisanship in his engagements with the Federal Government.
“I must say that you and members of your team are doing a phenomenal job in the state and also contributing significantly on the national stage,” he said.
Gbajabiamila also commended the calibre of Osun representatives at the National Assembly, citing the achievements of Hon. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, whose work, he noted, has supported the Federal Government’s anti-corruption drive.
While emphasizing the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments, Gbajabiamila called for strengthened partnerships aimed at advancing good governance and public welfare.
“It is important that the two levels of government work together for the betterment of the people we serve,” he noted, adding that his long-standing relationship with Governor Adeleke is founded on mutual respect and shared commitment to national development.
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke expressed appreciation for the visit, describing Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila as a brother and partner in progress. He acknowledged the pivotal role the Chief of Staff plays in ensuring the effective implementation of President Tinubu’s policies.
“We are proud to have someone like you in the Villa. Your dedication to national service, which began during the Buhari administration, continues to yield positive results under President Tinubu,” Governor Adeleke said.
The Governor specifically praised the administration for the launch of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a transformative policy that will ensure unhindered access to tertiary education for Nigerian youths.
He reiterated Osun State’s alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the state’s commitment to implementing his administration’s five-point development plan aimed at driving inclusive economic growth.
“We are complementing the efforts of President Tinubu by putting Osun on the path of sustainable development and economic prosperity,” Adeleke stated.
He further urged governors in the Southwest region to rally behind the Federal Government’s educational initiatives, particularly NELFUND, to maximize opportunities for the region’s students.
“Let us unite to support our President as he works tirelessly to reverse the years of decline that have led to hunger and poverty in our land. We in Osun are solidly behind him, and we pray for his continued success,” Governor Adeleke concluded.
The event highlighted a renewed spirit of cooperation between Osun State and the Federal Government, underlining the importance of unity in achieving national development objectives.
