It is one of the biggest age-long cultural festivals in the African continent. The word "Olojo" literally means "Ojo ti Ojo di Ojo" which is translated as "The Day of The First Dawn" and it is, according to the Yoruba pantheon, a day specially blessed by Olodumare, the supreme being. As the preparation for the 2021 edition of the World famous Olojo Festival in Ile-Ife gathers momentum, the City's ancient and historical Hall would not be spared from the array of activities being put in places to once again ensure a colourful celebrations. This is as works have commenced on the renovation of the wearing ceiling of the ancient and highly historical structure which is one of the heritage masterpieces located in the Ilé Oòduà, the Palace, a project being executed by the serving Honourable Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ife Federal Constituency, Honourable Taofeeq Abimbola Ajilesoro. RRCC RELEASES TIMELINE FOR THE 2021 OLOJO FESTIVAL RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT

Kayode Olawuni The Raia Rooks Chess Club(RRCC) has released timeline for the 2021 edition of its annual Olojo Festival Rapid Chess Tournament. In a release signed by the Founder and CEO of the prestigious sports society, Hon. Adebisi Awope and obtained by Ife City Blog on Saturday, this Year's tournament, the third of its kind will hold between Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th of September, 2021 at the Ife Grand Resorts and Industrial Park, Ife/Ibadan Road, Ile-Ife, Osun State. According the statement, the season 3 edition of the tournament, with the theme, "Give Kids The World: Teach Them How To Play Chess And You Have Given Them The Ability To Make Important Life Decisions" is projected to be held in a more grand style just as it has secured the official approval and incorporation into the Pre-Olojo Festival Programmes by His Imperial Majesty, the Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife.
