Officer Accidentally Kills Child While Arresting Suspect In Los Angeles

Los Angeles police on Friday confirmed the death of a 14-year-old girl who was accidentally killed when an officer opened fire while arresting an assault suspect in a clothing store. In a statement released on Thursday, the police said they received calls about an armed attack at a store and when the officers arrived at the scene, they found several civilians sheltering inside the building. According to the statement, the officers opened fire at the suspect and took him into custody, meanwhile, the bullet passed through the wall of a dressing room and hit the girl. The suspect was soon confirmed dead by the paramedics that arrived at the scene and no gun was reportedly recovered. “Unbeknownst to the officers, a 14-year-old girl was in a changing room behind a wall, that was directly behind the suspect and out of the officers’ view. “She was in the changing area with her mother when the officers encountered the suspect and the shooting occurred. Man Arrested In Abia For Allegedly Masterminding Wife's Abduction And Murder

The Operatives of the Nigeria Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abia state have arrested one Emeh Kalu for allegedly masterminding the kidnapping and murder of his wife, Late Mrs Nneka Nwanyi-Sunday Emeh Kalu. The police also arrested three other suspects in connection with the abduction and gruesome killing of the late Mrs Kalu who was earlier reported missing and later found dead in a cassava farm on 29th August, 2021 in Ngugworo Community in Nguzu Edda in Afikpo South, Ebonyi State.  The Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba in a release on Wednesday said the Force received complaint from the people of Ngugworo community, Ebonyi State, a border town to Abia State where the victim resided, when her decomposing body was discovered in their community which led to a discrete investigation and eventual arrest of the suspects. The palace of the Ooni of Ife has condemned the gruesome killing of about five persons in Toro Village on Friday by yet to be identified assailants. The Palace in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Public Affairs, Comrade Moses Olafare as obtained by Ife City Blog on Saturday described the incident as unfortunate and a sheer criminal act, noting that the perpetrators will not escape justice. The Osun State Police Command had earlier in a statement by its spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident, stating that investigations were ongoing to unravel and apprehend the culprits. Kayode Olawuni Violence rocked some parts of the City of Ife in the mid hours of Wednesday as armed men suspected to be of a rival group engaged in violent attacks. According to an eyewitness report, the school boy, aged 19 had been punished on account of indicent dressing by the Principal but the story did not end there as the aftermath saw the school head suffering a reprisal beating by hoodlums suspected to have been hired by the pupil who stormed the school premises in the company of his biological father.
